There is a lot of pressure for our babies to “sleep through” from an early age and when they don’t do that, we can feel like we aren’t doing a good enough job. Let me tell you, you are.
When I first became a Mother the realities of how that felt and how my life changed had a massive negative impact on my mental health. I believed I would just have the instinct to be confident in the decisions I was making for my son but I didn’t feel confident, I felt out of control. I believe that if I had the knowledge I have now on infant sleep, developmental changes, and normal baby behaviour, I wouldn’t have felt so out of control and out of my depth.
